Q: What kind of reels do you work on?
A: Most star drag and lever drag reels that are popular for shore-casting and boat fishing in Hawaii. Examples: Penn, Newell, Shimano, Daiwa, etc.
Q: Do you work on spinning reels?
A: Generally not, due to the risk of breakage during disassembly and lack of parts available. Exceptions are older Penn spin fisher and Z/Greenie models.
Q: Do you fix reels in any condition?
A: Some reels that are badly damaged or neglected may not be fixable, while other reels may require an additional labor charge to fix. We will communicate with you in advance whether your reel is repairable before any payment is required.
Q: What is your turn around time?
A: It depends on how busy it is at the time of your request. Regular maintenance and service will generally be completed within 2 weeks. Custom builds or specialized jobs will be determined on a case by case basis.
Q: Can I ship my reels to you for servicing?
A: We do accept reels shipped via USPS from the United States. You will be responsible for the cost of shipping, and a personal consultation is required before we can accept any reel shipped to us.
Q: What product types do you use to protect/lubricate reels?
A: We only use high quality greases and lubricants. We're always on the lookout for the best products for reel performance & longevity. We incorporate new products after testing them on our own equipment first.
Q: How long have you been servicing reels professionally?
A: Since 2015
